Using the Free Hit chip is proving a popular tactic ahead of Gameweek 27 in Fantasy Premier League.

Almost 100,000 managers currently have the Free Hit active, more than twice the combined total of all other chips.

Wildcard 37

Liverpool’s Blank Gameweek 27 is the main reason for this as Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) and Trent Alexander-Arnold (£8.5m), the two most-owned players in Fantasy, are without a fixture.

Meanwhile, interest in Burnley is rising as they are the only side who play twice in this upcoming round of matches, facing Crystal Palace and Leicester City.

The Scout’s panel of experts tip players who managers should be prioritising in Gameweek 27.

What the experts say
Utkarsh Dalmia (@zophar666)

Tripling up on Manchester City, given their fixture at Everton, is something I'm looking at. Joao Cancelo (£7.1m), Riyad Mahrez (£8.7m) and Raheem Sterling (£10.7m) are in my Free Hit draft.

Tom Cantle (@WGTA_FPL)

Burnley's Wout Weghorst (£6.5m) is top of my list. He's got good pedigree, with a goal every other match in the Bundesliga last season, and looks to have hit the ground running for the Clarets. Due to his Double Gameweek, he's a possible captain pick too.

Holly Shand (@FFCommunity_)

Bruno Fernandes (£11.7m) is a key player in my Free Hit squad. He's been thriving since Ralf Rangnick tweaked his formation and it's great to see him having a high shot volume as well as assist threat.

Pranil Sheth (@Lateriser12)

Burnley and Man City are two teams I'm targeting outside of Tottenham Hotspur. Weghorst, Nick Pope (£5.4m), Cancelo and Mahrez will most likely be in my Free Hit team.

Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

If you're looking to beef up your team with some premium options, you'll also need to shop around for a bargain. Despite his blank last time out, Southampton's Armando Broja (£5.4m) is having a great season. With three home matches in his next four and a Double Gameweek 28, the fixtures could not have fallen nicer for a player who is averaging 5.1 points per start.

Paul Gee (FPLPaulGee)

Weghorst is going to be popular on a Free Hit chip. He has found the back of the net quickly in the Premier League and, due to his Double Gameweek fixtures, is going to be a popular captain.

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

Owning Son Heung-min (£10.8m) and Harry Kane (£12.2m) as well as Weghorst, Cancelo and Kevin De Bruyne (£12.0m) looks appealing for those playing a Free Hit chip. But managers using transfers alone should also look ahead to the other Doubles in Gameweeks 28 and 29.

Targeting players such as Newcastle United's Chris Wood (£6.7m) gives managers a player with a good fixture in Gameweek 27 as well as a nice Double Gameweek in 28. Likewise, investing in the Aston Villa midfield with Jacob Ramsey (£4.8m), Philippe Coutinho (£7.3m) or Emiliano Buendia (£6.2m) offers good potential for the next two weeks.
