The Scout's panel of experts discuss the contrasting form of Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.7m) and Bruno Fernandes (£11.9m) and what they plan to do with the Manchester United players.

What the experts say
Holly Shand (@HollyShand)

It pains me to say it, but it's time for Fernandes to go. Ronaldo is the superior option from Man Utd and they aren't looking lively enough to double-up and use a quarter of our FPL budgets, when Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) and Romelu Lukaku (£11.6m) are also such good options right now.

Tom Cantle (@WGTA_FPL)

Ronaldo's at the sharp end of everything United create, elbowing his Portuguese team-mate out of the picture.

Fernandes has gone from being essential to merely another option thanks to the Man Utd legend's sensational return.

Ben Crabtree (@FC_CrabDogg)

I still think Fernandes has big scores to offer with the number of chances he creates and getting into the box, though mainly in home matches.

It is difficult to pick him ahead of Ronaldo, however, and with Man Utd having a tough run of fixtures, it's hard to justify having him as well.

Paul Gee (@FPLPaulGee)

It is becoming clear that going Ronaldo over Bruno is becoming essential. When we finally get to see who takes penalties, this will really confirm what we should do.

Utkarsh Dalmia (@zophar666)

Ronaldo's arrival at Man Utd has significantly dented Bruno's appeal. Not only does he probably lose spot-kicks, he now has to take up more of a creative role and provide service which means he isn't making runs into the box as much.

At his price point, there are several other better options both up front and in midfield.

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

Since his arrival in the Premier League, Fernandes has been almost ever-present in my FPL team, however with the changes in Man Utd's set-up, now is the time to part company with him.

With many of the budget players performing well in this early part of the season. looking to downgrade him for Sarr, Conor Gallagher (£5.6m) or Raphinha (£6.5m) to free up budget for Lukaku makes a lot of sense.

Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

Fernandes hasn't become a bad player or a bad FPL asset overnight, but you have to question now whether he's worth his very hefty price tag. For me, he's not, now that Ronaldo is front-and-centre for the United attack.

Chuck Booth (@ChuckBoothSport)

It's time to cut the cord on Fernandes. While he will still get his returns, he won't match attacking midfielders like Demarai Gray (£5.8m) or Ismaila Sarr (£6.1m), let alone come close to Salah.

I shipped Fernandes out en route to getting Ronaldo and I haven't looked back. Sarr would be my top replacement this week, as he allows you to save plenty of cash for a Lukaku swap.

Jack Grealish (£8.0m) should be on the radar as a long-term replacement.
