Aston Villa’s new signing travels to promoted Watford on the back of a debut goal last Sunday.

Ings’ appeal in Fantasy has soared since he moved from Southampton last week.

His ownership has climbed from just four per cent to 31.5 per cent, making him the most popular forward in the game.

West Ham United’s Michail Antonio (£7.5m) has also been in strong form over the summer.

The Hammers’ frontman has produced three goals and an assist in their final three friendlies.

He visits a Newcastle United side who managed just two clean sheets at home last term, the fewest in the competition.

Look elsewhere?

Elsewhere among forwards, Ivan Toney (£6.5m) contributed 31 goals and 10 assists in the 2020/21 Championship, highlighting his all-round prospects for Brentford’s home encounter with Arsenal.

Tottenham Hotspur’s home meeting with champions Manchester City provides a trio of in-form midfield options in Fantasy.

Playing up front for Spurs, Son Heung-min (£10.0m) has scored three goals and supplied four assists in pre-season.

Riyad Mahrez (£9.0m) has combined three goals with two assists, the Algerian playing a part in more goals than any Man City team-mate.

Ilkay Gundogan (£7.5m) has also been quick to make an impact, producing two goals and an assist in his first start of pre-season.

Fast start for Leicester duo?

Finally, Leicester City duo Jamie Vardy (£10.5m) and Harvey Barnes (£7.0m) can enjoy success against a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who have struggled in defence under new head coach Bruno Lage.

Wolves will head to King Power Stadium with a single clean sheet over their six pre-season outings.

Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers has returned to a 4-3-3 formation recently, with Vardy as the lone striker.

With 15 goals and 14 assists last season, it was the first time in his FPL career that Vardy managed double-figures for both statistics.

Barnes, meanwhile, was a key figure in home matches for Leicester in 2020/21.

He was involved in 56 per cent of their goals at King Power Stadium when selected, more than any team-mate.

Remember, the Gameweek 1 deadline is at 18:30 BST on Friday 13 August.
