October 2020's Barclays Manager of the Month nominees

Nuno, Hasenhuttl, Mourinho, Moyes and Smith on shortlist for award

Five men who led their teams to impressive results in October were nominated for the Barclays Manager of the Month award.

Fans had until 18:00 GMT on Monday 9 November to vote for their favourite from the shortlist below.

The public vote was combined with those of a panel of football experts to decide the winner. 

October's Barclays Manager shortlist
Nuno Espirito Santo (WOL)

Wolverhampton Wanderers went unbeaten during the month, beating Fulham, Leeds United and Crystal Palace as they conceded just one goal in their four matches.

Ralph Hasenhuttl (SOU)

Hasenhuttl guided Southampton to home wins over West Bromwich Albion and Everton, while a stoppage-time goal by Jannik Vestergaard earned a 3-3 draw at Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho (TOT)
P3 W2 D1 L0 GF10 GA4 GD+6

A scintillating 6-1 win at his former club Manchester United and a hard-fought victory at Burnley were the highlights for a Tottenham Hotspur side who scored 10 goals in the month.

David Moyes (WHU)
P4 W1 D2 L1 GF8 GA6 GD+2 

Despite facing four of last season’s top six, Moyes oversaw a 3-0 win at Leicester City, along with draws against Spurs and Manchester City before a narrow loss to Liverpool.

Dean Smith (AVL)
P3 W2 D0 L1 GF8 GA5 GD+3

The 7-2 victory over champions Liverpool was followed by another fine win at Leicester as Villa continued their unbeaten start to the season before losing to Leeds.
