Danny Ings (£7.6m) climbed into second place in the FPL forward standings after scoring Southampton’s opener.

His quest for the Golden Boot means the Saints striker was handed penalty duties ahead of their usual No 1 taker, James Ward-Prowse (£5.7m).

But Ings’ missed spot-kick proved costly for his 112,345 new owners, the forward earning just four points against AFC Bournemouth.

Nonetheless, his 21st goal of the season takes him to just two behind Jamie Vardy (£9.7m) in the race for the Golden Boot.

And his Gameweek 38+ visitors, Sheffield United, have struggled in defence in recent matches, being without a clean sheet in each of their last four road trips.

Saints defence for Free Hit?

Managers playing their Free Hit chip should also consider further options at both ends of the pitch for Saints.

Winger Nathan Redmond (£6.2m) has supplied an assist in each of the last three Gameweeks. In defence, Jack Stephens (£4.4m) and Kyle Walker-Peters (£4.4m) provide picks in the sub-£4.5m bracket.

They face a Blades side who have just one goal from their past five away matches.

AFC Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson (£7.4m) has managed only two assists in six appearances since the restart and his owners should consider a switch to Ings or Chris Wood (£6.1m) of Burnley for Gameweek 38+.

Top scorer: Aaron Ramsdale 11pts (TSB 3.2% £4.4m).
Bonus points: Aaron Ramsdale 3pts, Jack Stephens 2pts, Che Adams 2pts.

Harry Kane (£10.9m) scored twice for the second successive Gameweek in Tottenham Hotspur's win.

The Spurs striker has produced back-to-back double-figure hauls in FPL for the first time this season, following up a 12-point return at Newcastle United with 13 points against Leicester City.

Owned by only 11.0 per cent of squads, Kane looks a very tempting captaincy option for managers in search of an armband differential for Gameweek 38+.

Spurs visit a Crystal Palace side who have lost each of their last six matches, conceding 15 goals.

Son option

Son Heung-Min (£9.7m) provides another form option in Jose Mourinho’s attack.

The South Korean has scored or assisted in five of his last six starts and was also a huge success in his previous meeting with Palace, netting twice to earn 16 points in Gameweek 4.

At the back, Spurs’ form continues to improve. They have three clean sheets in the last five Gameweeks, conceding just two goals.

For Leicester, Vardy produced a first blank in five Gameweeks for his 28.6 per cent ownership.

Ahead of a home match with Manchester United, the striker has been a reliable source of returns at King Power Stadium recently, producing 31 points in his previous four matches.

Top scorer: Harry Kane 13pts (TSB 11.1% £10.9m).
Bonus points: Harry Kane 3pts, Lucas Moura 2pts, Hugo Lloris 2pts.
