Norwich City midfielder Tom Trybull and his wife Anna have donated £10,000 to the East Anglia Children's Hospice (EACH) and Age UK to help families and those suffering loneliness in their local community.

The money was raised by sales from children's book "The Story of Tommy T", written by Anna and based on Tom's journey to being a professional footballer.

"As a person in the public eye, I hope to have a positive impact on others in the community."

Tom told the club's official website: "We know that older people can suffer from loneliness, especially during the pandemic, because family and relatives are not allowed to visit them.

"The work that Age UK does to support older people is invaluable so we are both delighted to donate money to help make a difference to those who are vulnerable and alone.

"EACH helps to support children and their families living with life-threatening conditions to help reach milestones and improve their quality of life.

"As a person in the public eye, I hope to have a positive impact on others in the community."

Community counts

In February, Tom and Anna helped launch this year's Premier League Writing Stars poetry competition by visiting White Woman Lane Primary School.

Trybull is the latest Premier League star to use his platform effectively in a week where Manchester United's Marcus Rashford got Government backing for his campaign for free school meals for children over the summer holidays.
