Trent Alexander-Arnold scored a Golden Goal to book his place in the final of ePremier League Invitational final after a thrilling 3-2 comeback win against Raheem Sterling

The Manchester City winger took a two-goal half-time lead through a brilliant strike from Sergio Aguero, who then converted the first penalty of the tournament to double the advantage.

Alexander-Arnold mounted a comeback for Liverpool after the break, pulling a goal back through Roberto Firmino before equalising with a well crafted goal by Jordan Henderson.

The two teams were level after 90 minutes so it went to Golden Goal and the Reds defender won it soon after the restart thanks to a second goal from Firmino.

"He tested me all the way," Alexander-Arnold admitted after the final whistle.

Sterling was left to regret hitting the woodwork twice, once at 2-0 and then at 2-1.

"Fair play to him," Sterling said of his England team-mate. "I should have finished the game off. But he's won and good luck in the final."

Alexander-Arnold will face Diogo Jota after the Wolverhampton Wanderers forward beat Burnley's Dwight McNeil 4-1 in the other semi-final.
