Among Arsenal players, Aubameyang is above Thierry Henry's leading total of 30 goals in his first 50 Premier League matches for the Gunners.
Aubameyang admitted that another Premier League Golden Boot was in his sights this season, even if the three points were more important.
"As a striker of course it’s in the mind," Aubameyang told Arsenal's official website about the award. "But first of all, as I’ve always said, the most important is the team.
"I’m really happy that the goal could help us to win the game."
