FPL signings: Goal threat makes Kudus Spurs' best attacker

The Scout assesses the Ghanaian's Fantasy appeal following his move from West Ham

Mohammed Kudus’ move to Tottenham Hotspur could increase his appeal in 2025/26 Fantasy Premier League.

The Ghana international produced 13 goals and 13 assists over the past two seasons playing for West Ham United.

A versatile attacker, Kudus provides head coach Thomas Frank with plenty of options in the final third, but he’s arguably played his best football on the right wing.

Crucially, Bryan Mbeumo thrived on the right of Frank’s 4-2-3-1 formation at Brentford last season, with only Mohamed Salah scoring more FPL points than the Cameroonian's total of 236.

Is it possible that Frank could help Kudus reach similar heights?

Primarily a direct dribbler, his profile certainly seems to fit.

Last season, Kudus attempted the most dribbles in the Premier League, with 213, and had the second-most successful dribbles (92), which consistently put him in threatening positions.

Kudus' stats v Spurs wingers, 24/25
Player Mins Dribbles Succ. dribbles Succ. dribbles %
Son 2,122 85 29 34.1%
Johnson 2,197 47 19 40.4%
Kulusevski 2,414 127 38 29.9%
Tel 927 58 15 25.9%
Odobert 871 36 12 33.3%
Kudus 2,591 213 92 43.2%

Kudus also had the best rate of shots in 2024/25, averaging one every 34.5 minutes, in comparison to those Spurs players mentioned above.

That in theory should improve, too, playing in a more attacking team.

Spurs’ early schedule gives Kudus the chance to immediately impress.

They are at home to Burnley on the opening weekend and have a favourable start other than the Gameweek 2 trip to Manchester City, with only one of their first seven matches scoring more than three in the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR).

As a result, Kudus could be a tempting Gameweek 1 pick, particularly given Frank’s record of getting the best out of his attackers.
