Liverpool's Morrison named PL2 Player of the Month for January

Kieran Morrison has been named the Premier League 2 (PL2) Player of the Month for January.

The right-winger was in spectacular form last month, scoring five goals for Liverpool as they ended January with four straight wins.

Morrison topped an eight-man shortlist that was selected by the Premier League's Football Development Panel.

Originally deployed as an attacking midfielder, Morrison has excelled on the right wing with his most notable performance coming in Liverpool's 7-0 win against Arsenal, where he registered a hat-trick inside 55 minutes.

The 19-year-old then went on to score two winners from the penalty spot, one in the fifth minute of stoppage time against Leeds United and the other at Brighton & Hove Albion, to wrap up a brilliant goalscoring month.
