Sunderland: Regis Le Bris is still trying to find a way to replace the injured Granit Xhaka. Following surgery and international duties, Habib Diarra should be fit to make his first start since September. Trai Hume struggled up the pitch in Sunderland's defeat at West Ham United and could lose his spot.

Burnley: Lyle Foster is pushing for a recall after scoring last weekend, Zian Flemming is available following injury and James Ward-Prowse should make the squad, having signed on loan from West Ham. However, Burnley's unbeaten run of three matches – albeit all draws – suggests boss Scott Parker will make few, if any, changes.
