Everton sign left-back Aznou from Bayern Munich

The 19-year-old is the Toffees' fourth addition of the summer window

Everton have completed the signing of left-back Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich.

"The project they gave me is really good," Aznou told the official club website. "The Premier League is the best league in the world so I'm really excited to start.

“[Moyes] talked with me, he spoke with me about the team and how he wants me. So I decided directly when I spoke with him.

“I decided really quickly because of the words he gave me. He gave me confidence, so I decided to sign.”

The 19-year-old Morocco international becomes the club’s fourth signing of the window, following Charly Alcaraz, Thierno Barry and Mark Travers.

Speaking at an event prior to Everton's 3-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth in their opening Premier League Summer Series match in the United States, Moyes said he wanted to bring in “nine or 10 players before the start of the season.”

When asked to clarify his comments after the Bournemouth match, he confirmed, "Well, we've signed three, so if you take that off, we're still in the need of maybe five or six players. That's what we have to try and do."

Everton moved to strengthen their defensive ranks following the summer departure of Ashley Young, with Vitalii Mykolenko the club's only recognised senior left-back.

Central defensive duo James Tarkowski and Jarrod Branthwaite both missed the Bournemouth defeat through injury.

Aznou’s career so far

Aznou was born on 2 June 2006 in Barcelona, Spain, and began his career at Damm, a youth club in Barcelona, before joining Barcelona’s La Masia academy.

He moved to Bayern as a 16-year-old in 2022 and after starring for their youth team in 2023/24, Aznou was handed his senior debut in November 2024.

Aznou made four appearances in total for the first team, including a UEFA Champions League group stage match against Shakhtar Donetsk.

He returned to Spain in February this year, playing 13 times on loan for LaLiga side Real Valladolid.

Aznou has three caps for Morocco, registering one assist for the Atlas Lions.
