Premier League With Pride brings together and builds on the existing LGBTQ+ inclusion work of the League and clubs to deliver long-term change. It is part of the League’s continued commitment to celebrating and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.

Following consultation with clubs, representatives from LGBTQ+ supporters’ groups and a wide range of stakeholders, the Premier League has continued to build and strengthen its work in three key areas: education, celebration and action.

The Premier League supports clubs to deliver education sessions focused on LGBTQ+ inclusion by providing resources and programmes across schools, community settings and Academies.

The Premier League Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Standard (PLEDIS) is mandatory for all Premier League clubs and plays a key role in creating inclusive environments across all areas of their organisation. This includes providing player and staff training, ensuring that learning is consistent and embedded across clubs.

The League and clubs have clear processes in place to challenge and sanction discriminatory abuse wherever it occurs. The League commits to ensuring there is no place for homophobia or transphobia within stadiums or online.

Fans who experience or witness discrimination while at a Premier League match should contact their nearest steward or police officer, or report it by using the relevant club’s confidential text service.

Information on how people can report abuse they see online, and the clubs’ confidential text services, can be found here.

Switchboard

As part of the campaign, the League is collaborating with the national LGBTQ+ listening service Switchboard. The collaboration will ensure fans, staff, players and the wider public have access to free, confidential advice.

Football has a unique power to build and strengthen communities, often creating lifelong friendships. However, every now and then, we all need somewhere else to discuss things that can feel difficult to share.
