Match summary

Substitute Oumar Niasse scored twice in nine minutes as Hull City beat relegation rivals Swansea City 2-1.

Swansea’s Wayne Routledge missed a great chance when he fired over from eight yards.

It proved costly as the 63rd-minute introduction of Niasse paid dividends for the hosts.

Six minutes after entering the fray the 26-year-old played a one-two with Abel Hernandez and slotted past Lukasz Fabianski. He doubled the Tigers’ lead soon after with a similar finish.

Swansea halved the deficit in stoppage time as Alfie Mawson headed home Gylfi Sigurdsson’s free-kick.

Hull held on to go above Middlesbrough and a point below 17th-placed Crystal Palace. Swansea are 16th, three points above the relegation zone.
