The Scout explains what each chip in Fantasy Premier League does and how they can be used effectively in the final Gameweeks.
Wildcard
If you don’t like the look of your squad and you want to change a host of players, the Wildcard allows you to make sweeping changes at any time without any points deductions.
With only three Gameweeks remaining in the 2024/25 season, if you still have the Wildcard remaining, it is a good idea to use it sooner rather than later to give your new signings the most time possible to make an impact.
With each Gameweek that goes by, your Wildcard chip becomes less effective!
Assistant Manager
The Assistant Manager chip gives you the chance to earn points from your chosen Premier League manager over a three-Gameweek spell - and there are now only three Gameweeks remaining!
Just remember that you can't two use chips in the same Gameweek, so if you were to activate your Assistant Manager chip in Gameweek 36, you wouldn't be able to use any other chips for the rest of the season.
If you do play the chip in Gameweek 36, Pep Guardiola (£1.5m) faces Southampton, AFC Bournemouth and Fulham in his final three matches, while Ange Postecoglou (£1.1m) could have three opportunities for table-bonus points against Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Triple Captain
The Triple Captain chip allows you to earn THREE TIMES the total points of your captain in any given Gameweek.
Picking a player who faces one of this season's promoted clubs looks the best approach.
For example, Chris Wood (£7.0m) is at home to Leicester City in Gameweek 36, while Arsenal's Bukayo Saka (£10.5m) is away to Southampton in Gameweek 38.
Free Hit
The Free Hit chip provides managers with the opportunity to select a brand new squad for ONE Gameweek only.
If you were to use the chip in Gameweek 36, for example, when Gameweek 37 begins your squad would then revert back to what it was in Gameweek 35.
Gameweek 36 could be a good time to play the chip, with popular Fantasy assets like Mohamed Salah (£13.8m), William Saliba (£6.6m), Alexander Isak (£9.6m) and Cole Palmer (£10.6m) facing each other.
Managers could swap these players out and bring in players from Manchester City, West Ham United and Nottingham Forest, who face Southampton, Ipswich Town and Leicester City respectively.
Bench Boost
The Bench Boost chip allows you to earn points from all 15 players in your squad in a given Gameweek, including those on your bench.
If you have a week where most or all of your substitutes have good fixtures and you wish you could play them all, then you can!
With no Double Gameweeks scheduled as it stands, selecting cheap assets who have a standout fixture is important for managers with the Bench Boost left.
Some potential options to consider are Everton players such as Vitalii Mykolenko (£4.3m) and Iliman Ndiaye (£5.2m). The Toffees host Southampton in Gameweek 37.
Also, Bournemouth face Leicester in Gameweek 38, making Kepa Arrizabalaga (£4.6m), Dean Huijsen (£4.3m) and Antoine Semenyo (£5.7m) viable Boost-Bench options.
