The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts discuss who are the best Aston Villa players to pick ahead of their favourable run of fixtures from Gameweek 9.

Utkarsh Dalmia (@ZopharFPL)

Villa have great options everywhere. Matty Cash (£5.0m) played on the wing against Wolverhampton Wanderers in Gameweek 8 and will likely do so again. Moussa Diaby (£6.7m) is playing as a second striker, while the jewel in the crown is Ollie Watkins (£8.1m), who has returned in all but one match this season.

Villa haven't kept many clean sheets, but with Fulham and Luton Town at home in the next four Gameweeks, these are opportunities to increase those numbers. This makes investing in Cash worthwhile. Going forward I can't look past Watkins. Diaby has done well but I feel Watkins will outscore him in most matches and there are plenty of other good midfield options.

Villa have started strongly and that is thanks to the performances of Watkins, who has scored four goals and produced seven assists to make him the joint-top points scorer in the game. Defensively, Cash represents an excellent option because of his attacking threat and his defensive capabilities.

Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

Diaby has been in my squad since Gameweek 1, while I added Cash ahead of Gameweek 8. The decision not to have Watkins was because of my budget and my reluctance to sell Julian Alvarez (£7.0m). I think the double-up of Diaby and Cash is enough, especially considering all of the other teams with great fixtures.

Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)

Many on Wildcard will plan to triple up on Villa with Cash, Diaby and Watkins. But with European fixtures coming up, I'm not sure I can bank on Villa turning up every weekend even with good fixtures. So while I like their assets very much, I think the double-up is sufficient - Cash and Watkins will likely be in my team very soon.

My order of priority for Villa would be Watkins, Cash, then Diaby. I think the first two have excellent underlying numbers and returns. While I think Diaby is good, he will compete with other midfielders also with very good fixtures such as Kaoru Mitoma (£6.6m), Jarrod Bowen (£7.3m) and James Ward-Prowse (£6.3m).
