Brentford centre-back becomes fifth top-scoring player in home matches

Ben Mee (£4.8m) extended his reliable run of home returns with a 13-point haul in Gameweek 22 of Fantasy Premier League.

The Brentford centre-back combined a goal and clean sheet with a bonus point in Saturday's 3-0 win over Southampton.

Mee has now amassed 64 points at home this season, second only to the 79 of Kieran Trippier (£6.1m) among defenders.

Indeed, that total at home is the fifth-best among all players in Fantasy.

The Bees’ schedule suggests Mee could continue to be a very handy squad player for Fantasy managers across the coming months.

According to the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), five of their next seven home matches score only two.

Elsewhere in defence, James Tarkowski (£4.2m) can provide major value under Everton's new manager Sean Dyche.

The centre-back's decisive goal in the 1-0 win over Arsenal earned him his season-high 15 points.

The Toffees have a favourable schedule as they look to build on their winning start under Dyche, with four of their next five matches scoring two in the FDR.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are another side with improving form in defence.

A 3-0 win over Liverpool was their second clean sheet in three matches, with centre-back Max Kilman (£4.3m) amassing 20 points over those two encounters.

Each of Wolves’ next three matches score only two in the FDR.

Watkins a deadly differential

Elsewhere, Ollie Watkins (£7.1m) continued his influential displays for Aston Villa under Unai Emery.

The forward's goal and assist earned him 11 points in a 4-2 loss to Leicester City.

He has blanked only twice in seven outings for Emery, averaging 5.4 points per match.

Watkins was among three low-owned forwards who claimed double-figure hauls across Saturday's seven matches.

Leicester's Kelechi Iheanacho (£6.1m) and Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo (£5.8m) recorded 15 and 12 points respectively, yet all three could be found in under three per cent of squads before the deadline.

Popular recruits deliver

Finally, popular midfielders Marcus Rashford (£7.2m), Bruno Fernandes (£9.9m) and Kaoru Mitoma (£5.2m) all rewarded their growing bands of owners with double-figure returns.

Manchester United duo Rashford and Fernandes delivered 12 and 10 points respectively in the first match of their Double Gameweek 22, a 2-1 home win over Crystal Palace.

Over 550,000 managers played their Triple Captain chip on Rashford, the most in any Gameweek this season.

He now has a home fixture against Leeds United in the second match of his Double Gameweek, having averaged 9.4 points per start at Old Trafford in 2022/23.
