Watford relegated after defeat at Crystal Palace

Roy Hodgson saw his 10-man Watford team relegated from the Premier League with a 1-0 loss at his former club Crystal Palace.

The Hornets needed a win to extend their stay in the top flight, but were undone by Wilfried Zaha's 13th goal of the season.

Zaha sent Ben Foster the wrong way from the penalty spot on 31 minutes after Hassane Kamara had handled Michael Olise's header.

The day got worse for Kamara when he was sent off for a second booking in the second half.

Palace had further chances but Marc Guehi, Olise and Odsonne Edouard were all denied by stunning Foster saves.

Back-to-back victories lift Palace into the top half, with 44 points, twice more than Watford, who join Norwich City in going down.
