Since 2014, the lives of more than 16,000 children and young people have been positively impacted by the projects and its Young Leaders, with more than £1.5million invested by City Football Group and its partners. One of City's newest projects is in Bandung, Indonesia where 2,000 street children are at high risk of drug abuse. Acil, 23, has teamed up with other young leaders who are using football to engage 250 street children and connect them with specialised support to deal with the threat of substance abuse and other challenges, including HIV and AIDS. "Football is extraordinary. It teaches kids to be disciplined, to be confident and it also improves the quality of their life. It helped me get off the street and get what I wanted in life. Now I want to use it to help others like me to find the solutions to their problems." CityGirls ProgrammeNow in its 30 year, City in the Community is delivering more programmes than ever before in a continued effort to help Manchester kids get a better shot at life. This season, as part of the foundation’s CityGirls programme, Manchester City Women’s midfielder Izzy Christiansen, has volunteered as a coach during the weekly after school sessions at the City Football Academy. Commenting on her involvement, Izzy said: "I'm really proud to work alongside coaches from City in the Community to inspire more girls to participate in the game. It’s fantastic to see how enthusiastic they are in each session and how much they love playing football."

Arsenal's Academy redevelopmentThis season saw the completion of a multi-million pound two year project at Arsenal's Academy. The facility now features a number of full-size pitches, including an exhibition pitch with the same surface and dimensions as the Emirates Stadium. The pitches are named after the original four stands at Highbury, in recognition of the club’s long tradition of developing home-grown talent. Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis said: "This is now a spectacular facility which has been built on the shoulders of the people who worked so hard to establish the Arsenal Academy. Our challenge now is to continue to take it forwards and create a pipeline of players who have the attributes to play for our first team."

Burnley
Burnley's community mission is strengthenedBurnley FC invested in a £1m capital project to redevelop the corner of the Bob Lord Stand at the Turf Moor stadium in the summer of 2016. Alongside a brand new state-of-the-art club shop, the building also now houses the club’s official charity, Burnley FC in the Community. The 40 seater space, next to the club’s head office, has embedded the community team within the heart of the club and strengthened the close workings between club and community. Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer of Burnley FC in the Community said: "This purpose-built office space at the stadium has given us an incredible base from which to work as a charity. With the space to house both office and delivery staff, the room is also big enough to accommodate our rapid growth as we continue on our mission to inspire, support and deliver change in our community."
