By scoring twice for West Ham United against Newcastle United on Saturday Chicharito not only helped his side on their way to a rare 3-0 away victory at St James' Park, but he closed in on a Premier League record.

Chicharito's goals in the 11th and 63rd minute of the match gave the Hammers their greatest Premier League victory at Newcastle since October 1998, which was also a 3-0 triumph.

They also helped the Mexican striker to close in on an individual landmark set by Tim Cahill.

Australian midfielder Cahill is the player to have scored the most PL goals exclusively from inside the penalty area, with 56.

Chicharito's double took him to 48 goals in the competition, all of which have been scored in the 18-yard box.
