Manchester City are aiming to return to winning ways after their goalless draw at Liverpool, while Burnley are seeking to maintain their reputation for troubling reigning champions.

Team news

Kevin De Bruyne is ready to make his Man City return after recovering from a knee injury, while Fabian Delph is also available again. But Ilkay Gundogan (hamstring) is out of action.

Burnley midfielder Steven Defour (knee) is in contention for his first Premier League start since January but the match comes slightly too soon for Robbie Brady.

Ben Gibson (groin), Stephen Ward (knee), Nick Pope (shoulder) are all still sidelined.

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 33 Premier League matches kicking off at 15:00 BST on a Saturday, winning 29 and drawing four. If they avoid defeat here, they will set a record for this time-slot.

Raheem Sterling has been involved in 14 goals in his last 12 PL appearances at the Etihad Stadium, with nine goals and five assists. He has scored in all three of his home league matches this season.

Burnley have beaten the defending champions in each of their last four PL campaigns, having overcome Manchester United in 2009/10, Man City in 2014/15, Leicester City in 2016/17, and Chelsea in 2017/18. With victories in four out of eight contests, no side have a better win rate against the title-holders.

Sean Dyche is looking to become the first English manager to win a PL match at Man City since Harry Redknapp in May 2010. Since Spurs’ 1-0 victory, Englishmen have taken just three points from 37 visits to the Etihad (P37 W0 D3 L34), losing the last 18 in a row.
