Martin Hunter praised "one of the best 90 minutes" he has seen his Southampton side play as they stayed top of Premier League 2 Division 1 by beating last season's Under-21 Premier League champions Manchester United 2-0.

Josh Sims and Jack Stephens struck within six minutes of each other early in the second half to give the Saints their third successive home win over United at this level.

The result followed last weekend’s 4-1 win over Liverpool and Hunter was elated to make it two wins from two in 2016/17.

“That was one of the best 90 minutes I’ve seen in my tenure at the club," he told saintsfc.co.uk.
