2013: Andy Carroll signs for West Ham

West Ham United completed the permanent signing of forward Andy Carroll from Liverpool.

The striker had spent the previous season on loan to the Hammers, scoring seven goals in 24 PL matches. ]

The former Newcastle United forward signed a six-year contract and would go on to score 26 times over the next five seasons, surpassing 50 goals in the competition.

2015: Tottenham Hotspur sign Kieran Trippier

Kieran Trippier completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur from Burnley.

The right-back started all 38 of the Clarets’ Premier League matches in 2014/15, impressing despite their relegation.

Trippier scored his first PL goal to clinch a 1-0 victory over Watford, one of six appearances in 2015/16 as he helped Spurs finish third.

He played 12 times the following season as Mauricio Pochettino’s side finished runners-up to Chelsea, before establishing himself in the team after Kyle Walker’s departure with 24 outings in 2017/18.

His form was rewarded with a call-up to England’s 2018 FIFA World Cup squad.
