Tottenham Hotspur's Christian Eriksen kept up his fine form with a goal in Denmark's 1-1 draw with Australia at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Eriksen set up his country's winning goal against Peru on Saturday but went one better in Samara, Russia.

The midfielder struck past Mat Ryan, the Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper, before Mile Jedinak, the former Crystal Palace midfielder, levelled from the penalty spot.

The result leaves Denmark needing a point in their final Group C match against France to guarantee a place in the last 16.

PL contingent feature for France

Chelsea's Olivier Giroud and N'Golo Kante were among the Premier League players who helped France qualify for the knockout stage by beating Peru.

Giroud linked up with Paul Pogba, the Manchester United star, in the move that led to the only goal in Ekaterinburg.

Hugo Lloris, the Spurs goalkeeper, captained the side and marked his 100th appearance for Les Bleus with a fine first-half save and a clean sheet.

Lovren helps Croatia past Argentina

Dejan Lovren kept out Sergio Aguero's Argentina as Croatia progressed past the group stages for the first time since they finished third on debut in 1998.

The Liverpool centre-back was at the heart of a 3-0 win in Nizhny Novgorod to help earn a second successive clean sheet in the tournament.

Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero and Manchester City's Nicolas Otamendi played for Argentina, who are third in Group D with one point from their two matches.
