2006: Ashley Cole signs for Chelsea

Ashley Cole, a two-time title winner with Arsenal and a member of the Gunners' Invincibles squad, headed across London to join Chelsea, while William Gallas moved in the opposite direction.

Cole, who had already made 156 Premier League appearances for Arsenal, racked up another 229 top-flight matches during his eight seasons at Stamford Bridge.

The left-back scored eight goals for the Blues, four of those coming in the 2009/10 season when he won the title for a third time.

Cole departed in July 2014, joining Roma on a free transfer.

2012: Hugo Lloris joins Tottenham Hotspur

Spurs signed goalkeeper Hugo Lloris from Lyon on transfer deadline day.

The Frenchman made his Premier League debut in early October against Aston Villa - the first of his 27 top-flight appearances that season.

Lloris was named Spurs' captain in August 2015.
