Everton produced a thrilling comeback to complete a dramatic final-day escape from relegation.
Needing victory at the very least to stay up, the Toffees went 2-0 down through Dean Holdsworth's early penalty and an own-goal from Gary Ablett.
But two goals from Graham Stuart either side of Barry Horne's superb strike made sure that Everton stayed up, ending up in 17th, two clear of the bottom three.
Wimbledon finished the season in sixth place.
Antolin Alcaraz scored the winner as Wigan Athletic secured safety with a victory that relegated their opponents.
Alcaraz headed home in the 87th minute to seal a sixth win in eight matches that kept Wigan in the Premier League.
The result dropped Blackburn Rovers to 19th and six points from safety with one match remaining, ending their 11-year stay in the top flight.
