2004: Cahill lands at Everton

Everton signed Australia international Tim Cahill from Millwall.

In his first season at Goodison Park, the energetic attacker was Everton’s top goal scorer with 11 Premier League goals.

In October 2006, Cahill was among 50 nominees for the Ballon d’Or, becoming the first Everton player in 18 years to contend for the award.

A scorer of memorable goals, the Australian also established a reputation for being a scorer of headed goals.

In his eight years with the club, 31 of his 56 PL goals were scored with his head, putting him in the top 10 of all-time.

2004: Jensen joins Fulham

After 122 Premier League appearances over four seasons with Charlton Athletic, Claus Jensen crossed London to play for Fulham.

The Denmark international spent three years at Craven Cottage but injury limited his playing time to just 35 appearances and he retired in August 2007.
