2000: Gascoigne moves to Everton

Paul Gascoigne teamed up with his former manager at Rangers, Walter Smith, by joining Everton from Middlesbrough.

The former Newcastle United, Spurs and Lazio midfielder international signed a two-year contract with the Blues after joining on a free transfer.

Gascoigne’s time at Everton was hampered by niggling injuries and he made 32 appearances in two years, scoring his only goal, and his last in English football, at Bolton Wanderers in November 2001.

He moved to Championship side Burnley towards the end of the 2001/02 season before moving to China, where he played for Gansu Tianma.

"Gazza" made 66 appearances in the Premier League, scoring five goals.
