Pep Guardiola has been named Barclays Manager of the Season for 2017/18.

The 47-year-old received the award at the League Managers' Association Annual Awards Dinner after leading Manchester City to a record-breaking Premier League campaign, including the title.

Guardiola received the most combined votes from a panel of experts and from fans in a public vote to become the first Spaniard to win the award.

He beat five other nominees: Rafael Benitez, Sean Dyche, Roy Hodgson, Chris Hughton and Jurgen Klopp.

Guardiola masterminded an extraordinary campaign by City during which they set a host of Premier League records, including reaching 100 points, 32 wins and 106 goals as well as winning the title by the biggest points margin.

"We have achieved something unique," he said after the final-day victory over Southampton.

"We broke everything! When we started, it was about trying to play well and improve every day. We found during the process we were winning games. It is magnificent."
