With 12 teams set to play two matches in Gameweek 37, captaincy selection in Fantasy Premier League appears more important than ever.

And if you are among the 30 per cent of active managers yet to use the Triple Captain chip, this is the time to put it in play.

Salah sales

In a regular Gameweek, Golden Boot rivals Mohamed Salah (£10.5m) and Harry Kane (£13.0m) would go head-to-head for the armband.

But Salah offers his 57.1 per cent owners just a single fixture, with Liverpool facing a testing trip to Chelsea on Sunday.

As a result, he has been sold more than any other player ahead of Friday’s 19:00 BST deadline.

Meanwhile, Kane has the opportunity to start in two matches.

Tottenham Hotspur travel to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday before hosting Newcastle United on Wednesday.

Having scored in back-to-back matches, the Spurs striker is now only four goals behind Salah in the race for the Golden Boot.

Kane repeat?

Kane will now look to repeat his display in Gameweek 37 from 2016/17, where he scored five goals to score a season-high 31 points.

His next two opponents remain vulnerable in defence.

West Brom have one clean sheet in their last eight home matches, while Newcastle have managed just two shutouts on the road all season.

However, Kane must see off some strong challengers if he is to convince FPL managers.

City skippers?

Gabriel Jesus (£10.4m) and Raheem Sterling (£9.1m) are among the other major candidates.

The Manchester City pair are the two most-bought players ahead of back-to-back home fixtures with Huddersfield Town and Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Terriers have conceded in each of their last 14 away matches, while Brighton have a single shutout in their last 14 Gameweeks.

Punishing form

Both Jesus and Sterling have the form to punish those defences.

Jesus has totalled four goals and three assists in six appearances, scoring in each of his last four starts.

Meanwhile, Sterling has three goals and seven assists since returning from injury in Gameweek 30.

He has delivered double-figure hauls in each of the previous three Gameweeks, taking his tally to 10 for the season, more than any team-mate.
