Jack Stephens is available for Southampton after completing a three-match suspension. But captain Steven Davis has been ruled out with a persistent ankle injury.

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Harry Arter will miss the match with an Achilles problem. Adam Smith remains out but could return in Matchweek 37, while Junior Stanislas (knee) is a long-term absentee.

Did you know?

Southampton have never lost at home to AFC Bournemouth in any competition (W8 D5).

But Saints are winless in eight Premier League matches (D3 L5) and have not won any of their last nine at St Mary's Stadium (D5 L4). Only once have they gone 10 top-flight home matches without victory, in December 1969.

AFC Bournemouth have been behind in a PL-high 25 matches this season but have picked up a league-high 18 points from losing positions.

Despite being AFC Bournemouth’s leading PL goalscorer this season with seven goals, Callum Wilson has not scored in his last 10 appearances, his joint-longest drought in the competition.
