Arsene Wenger rarely looks back on his career but when asked what he hoped his legacy would be, the Arsenal manager had a simple answer.

“Well, that I had a positive influence on the club's life,” he said.

“On my side, I believe I was lucky to work in a club who has identified values that are vital for me and that's why I am still here.”

Wenger decided on Friday to call his time at Arsenal to an end after 22 years at the club.

Speaking before his decision, Wenger says it is a “privilege” to work in England, talks about his "Invincibles" and describes his early attempts to change the dietary habits of his team back in 1996.

“I banned chocolate bars,” he says. “It was quite funny because they sang on the coach, ‘We want our chocolate bars!’

“And at half-time nobody talked at all. They sat all there, and I said to Gary Lewin, who was the physio at the time, ‘What is their problem?

“He said to me, "They're hungry." Because they were used to eating the chocolate before the game!”
