2006: Nemanja Vidic joins Manchester United

Sir Alex Ferguson bolstered his defence as Manchester United completed the signing of Nemanja Vidic from Spartak Moscow.

The Serbia international formed an effective centre-back partnership with Rio Ferdinand, helping the club to win five Premier League titles, as well as the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League.

Vidic made 211 Premier League appearances in his seven-and-a-half seasons at Old Trafford, keeping 95 clean sheets and scoring 15 goals, before leaving in 2014.

2007: Luis Boa Morte moves to West Ham United

Alan Curbishley made Luis Boa Morte his first signing as West Ham United manager, recruiting the Portugal international from London rivals Fulham.

Boa Morte, who had previously been a title-winner with Arsenal and also played for Southampton, left West Ham in August 2011 after making a total of 296 Premier League appearances for all clubs.

He scored 29 goals and set up another 35 during that time.
