Liverpool's Jordan Henderson is now fully fit and Danny Ings has recovered from a cold.

But James Milner will need to be assessed after picking up a knock, and Georginio Wijnaldum and Ben Woodburn are still struggling with illness after missing the last match.

Nathaniel Clyne completed 90 minutes for the PL2 side on Sunday as he closes in on his first senior appearance of the season, but he is not yet in contention for the first team.

Newcastle United will be without Jonjo Shelvey (knee) and Islam Slimani (thigh), but Dwight Gayle is available after recovering from a tight hamstring and Matt Ritchie has also shaken off a knock.

Did you know?

Liverpool have scored more PL goals against Newcastle than any other side in the competition (89). They have also netted in their last 21 home matches against the Magpies; 22 would be a PL record for consecutive scoring matches against the same opponent.

Mohamed Salah has had a hand in 31 PL goals this season (23 goals, 8 assists). Only two Liverpool players have been involved in more in a single campaign: Luis Suarez (43 in 2013/14) and Robbie Fowler (33 in 1995/96).

All three of Rafael Benitez’s PL matches against his former side Liverpool have finished as draws, with both at Anfield finishing 2-2.

Newcastle have opened the scoring in their last four PL matches but have only gone on to win once (1-0 against Manchester United). They have drawn the other three.
