Chelsea have become the latest club to announce plans to increase the capacity of their stadium for disabled supporters.

After working with the Equality and Human Rights Commission and the Chelsea Disabled Supporters Association, the club will raise the number of wheelchair spaces at Stamford Bridge to 219, while also improving the quality.

Some new places will be ready this season, while the total number will be available for the start of 2018/19.

A Chelsea statement said: "Our fans are at the heart of our club and efforts to improve facilities and experiences for all supporters, including disabled fans, are made season on season at Stamford Bridge.

"The club recognises the need to improve the access to and experience within the stadium for disabled supporters, allowing for greater choice in the location and elevation of seating, as well as a greater number of accessible toilet facilities."

The club added that their proposed new stadium at Stamford Bridge "will further improve the experience for our disabled supporters".
