Stoke City manager Paul Lambert hopes a couple of his players will shake off knocks, leaving him with no new injury concerns.

Loan signing Kostas Stafylidis could make his debut, while Jese is closing in on a first appearance since November as he builds up his match fitness.

Troy Deeney and Tom Cleverley are both back in contention for Watford. Heurelho Gomes (back) is still out while Younes Kaboul is training but is not yet match-fit.

Miguel Britos, Kiko Femenia and Will Hughes have all done light training this week.

Did you know?

After losing their first Premier League match against Watford in October 2015, Stoke City have won each of their last four against them in the competition.

Stoke have won a PL-high 74% of their points this season in home matches (17 out of 23). Watford have won half their points away from home, the joint-largest ratio with Burnley.

Stoke can win back-to-back PL matches for the first time since January 2017, a run which included a home victory against Watford.

Javi Gracia is aiming to become the first Watford manager to start with a win in the PL.

What the managers say

Paul Lambert: "[Jese] obviously started the season very brightly and if he continues to work hard in training then there is no reason why he can’t return and get back to the levels we know he’s capable of."
