When he made his Premier League debut for Watford in August 2006, Ashley Young admits that he was not expecting to reach the 300 mark 11 years later for Manchester United.

But the 32-year-old is aiming for many more matches at United as well as adding to the Premier League title he claimed at Old Trafford in 2012/13.

Young was speaking as he received a Premier League Milestone Award for reaching 300 appearances.

The Premier League Milestones have been introduced from this season, in association with Cadbury, to celebrate the players who have reached 100 Premier League appearances, or multiples thereof, in this campaign as well as scoring 50 goals.

Each player to reach these milestones will receive a presentation box from the Premier League, containing a special medallion and plaque commemorating their achievement.

"I don’t think I was expecting to get as many appearances as I clocked up," said Young, who also starred for Aston Villa before his move to Old Trafford.

"It's a massive achievement for me to get as many as I have and, hopefully, there's still life in these legs to get a few more."

Young was one of a number of players who received awards this month for their achievements.
