Liverpool will assess the fitness of Philippe Coutinho (adductor), who is a doubt, but Georginio Wijnaldum (knee) is set to return.

Adam Lallana (thigh), Sadio Mane (hamstring) and Nathaniel Clyne (back) are not yet fit.

Huddersfield Town's Elias Kachunga (back) is available, but Philip Billing will be out for around 12 weeks after undergoing ankle surgery.

Jon Gorenc Stankovic (knee), Michael Hefele (Achilles) and Kasey Palmer (hamstring) remain out.

Did you know?

Liverpool have lost only one of their last 42 Premier League home matches against newly-promoted sides and are unbeaten in each of the last 19.

Huddersfield Town can become only the fourth promoted side to beat both Liverpool and Manchester United in the same season (after Bolton Wanderers, Manchester City and Portsmouth).

Aaron Mooy has been directly involved in 10 league goals for Huddersfield in 2017 (four goals, six assists).

Mohamed Salah has scored five goals in his first nine PL appearances for Liverpool, level with Dirk Kuyt and only fewer than Robbie Fowler (6) at this stage of his Liverpool career in the competition.

What the managers say

Jurgen Klopp: "After the international break I think Adam and Sadio are back. It will be close, so hopefully they can train during the international break and be part of the normal training."

See: Wijnaldum prepared to play through the pain

David Wagner: "It is unusual to meet your best friend (Jurgen Klopp) in this way. This may be the first time I can give my analysis department more information than they can give me!”
