Ruben Amorim has urged Manchester United supporters to "stick together" after issuing an on-field apology for the club's disappointing 2024/25 season, saying that "good days are coming".
Amorim was addressing the crowd at Old Trafford following his team's 2-0 win over Aston Villa on the final day of the season.

Despite their victory on Sunday, Man Utd, who lost the UEFA Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur four days earlier, end the campaign in 15th place, their worst league finish since 1973/74 and lowest in the Premier League era.
"First of all, I want to apologise for this season," said Amorim to the Man Utd fans. "I know you are really disappointed with me and with the team.
"I want to secondly say thank you. We are very grateful for your support during the season and I know that it’s been really hard.
"I know it was really hard to support us in many games, but now we have to make a choice or we stay stuck in the past because this season is in the past. It’s over. We fight each other or we stick together and move forward."
Amorim took charge at Man Utd last November, after leaving Portuguese champions Sporting to succeed Erik ten Hag.
On Sunday, he vowed the club would come back stronger in 2025/26.
'We stick together and move forward'
"Six months ago, in my first three games in charge, with two victories and one draw, I said to you the storm is coming," Amorim said.
"Today, after this disastrous season, I want to tell you the good days are coming. If there is one club in the world that proves in the past that it can overcome any situation, any disaster, it’s our club, it’s Manchester United Football Club.
"Now I want to say sorry also to my players. Sometimes I was not fair, but I always try to be honest with you. Thanks very much, see you next season."
Man Utd's win over Villa, secured with a goal from Amad and a Christian Eriksen penalty in his final match for the club, was their first in the Premier League since beating Leicester City 3-0 in March.
Post-season tour plans
After the match, Man Utd announced a 32-man travelling squad for their post-season trip to Asia.
Amorim's side will play two friendlies, against ASEAN All Stars in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Wednesday 28 May and then the Hong Kong national team at Hong Kong Stadium on Friday 30 May.
