Having assessed the best forwards to consider for the final day of 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League, The Scout now looks at the midfielders.
Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze (£7.0m) has been the top-scoring player in Fantasy over the last four matches.
The England international scored five goals of his eight league goals this season during that spell, also collecting eight bonus to total 41 points.
West Ham United star Jarrod Bowen (£7.9m) and Brentford's Kevin Schade (£5.3m) both produced 35 points.
Bowen is the most-bought player ahead of Sunday's 14:30 BST deadline, earning 142,000+ new owners for the Hammers' trip to relegated Ipswich Town.
Whereas Bowen is now found in 14 per cent of squads, Schade's three per cent ownership marks him out as a major differential at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
There's a notable absence of highly-owned assets in general here. Indeed, NONE of the six most-popular midfielders in Fantasy feature, with the likes of Mohamed Salah (£13.6m), Bryan Mbeumo (£8.3m) and Bukayo Saka (£10.3m) overshadowed by the output of their midfield team-mates.
Along with the aforementioned Schade, Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai (£6.1m) and Arsenal pair Declan Rice (£6.2m) and Martin Odegaard (£8.2m) have proven worthy differentials of late.
Attacking output, last four matches
Player | Goals | Assists | Bonus | Pts |
Eze | 5 | 0 | 8 | 41 |
---|---|---|---|---|
Bowen | 3 | 2 | 5 | 35 |
Schade | 4 | 0 | 5 | 35 |
Rice | 2 | 1 | 6 | 28 |
Gibbs-White | 2 | 1 | 6 | 26 |
Tielemans | 1 | 2 | 5 | 26 |
Bernardo | 2 | 0 | 6 | 26 |
Nunes | 1 | 2 | 4 | 24 |
Odegaard | 0 | 4 | 3 | 24 |
Szoboszlai | 1 | 3 | 1 | 22 |
Who has the most potential for goals and assists?
The underlying statistics show that both Salah and Saka have been somewhat unfortunate recently.
Liverpool's Egyptian has had three big chances - situations where the player is expected to score - and created a further three of them over the last four matches.
Essentially, Salah's involvement in six big chances - and his 10 shots in the box - both rank second in the table below.
Palace's Ismaila Sarr (£5.6m) takes top spot for both those statistics, which also suggests he's been unlucky to be overshadowed by Eze.
Eze and Bowen, along with Nottingham Forest's Morgan Gibbs-White (£6.5m), have had three big chances and created two of them across the same period.
That total of five big-chance involvements was matched by Schade, as well as Liverpool's Luis Diaz (£7.5m), Chelsea's Cole Palmer (£10.5m) and Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers (£5.8m).
Attacking stats, last four matches

Schade | 8 | 5 | 0 | 5 |
Saka | 9 | 4 | 1 | 5 |

Bowen | 8 | 3 | 2 | 5 |
Eze | 7 | 3 | 2 | 5 |

Which midfielders are facing the weakest defences?
The team defensive data highlights the weaknesses of the Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal defences, with both conceding 15 big chances in this spell.
Brighton & Hove Albion's Kaoru Mitoma (£6.3m) could be a big influence at Spurs as the Seagulls look to clinch a place in Europe next season.
Manchester United's poor numbers also suggest Rogers can make an impact as Villa chase UEFA Champions League qualification.
Meanwhile, Liverpool's drop-off in performances indicate that Eze and Sarr can finish the campaign in style at Anfield.
Team defensive stats, last four matches
Club | Goals conc. | Clean sheets | Big chances conc. |
Spurs | 10 | 0 | 15 |
---|---|---|---|
Arsenal | 6 | 1 | 15 |
Man Utd | 8 | 0 | 13 |
Liverpool | 9 | 0 | 12 |
Fulham | 9 | 0 | 12 |
So, who are the best midfielders for Gameweek 38?
Salah’s numbers show he’s still offering a big threat despite his recent drop-off in output.
Combined with his huge 66 per cent ownership, it makes no sense to sell him unless you need to take huge risks.
Saka and Bowen’s shots in the box totals – added to their big-chance involvement numbers – also bode well for their trips Southampton and Ipswich respectively.
Schade, meanwhile, could be the big differential, while both Mitoma and Rogers could be key players for their side’s European ambitions.
