Mohamed Salah has matched the all-time record for Premier League goal involvements in a single season.
Salah's goal in Liverpool's match against Crystal Palace on the final day of the season was his 47th direct goal involvement in the Premier League in 2024/25.

This means Salah, who was named the EA Sports Player of the Season on Saturday, has equalled the all-time record for most combined goals and assists by a player in a campaign, which was previously held by Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer.
What makes Salah's feat all the greater, though, is that he has achieved it in a 38-match season, whereas Cole and Shearer reached their 47 goal involvements in 42-match seasons. The Premier League was comprised of 22 teams up until the 1995/96 season, so each club had to play 42 matches. In 1995/96, it was cut to 20 teams and the 38-match season as it stands today.
Salah had already broken the record for a 38-match season with his 45th contribution, an assist for Luis Diaz against West Ham United on 13 April. His 46th was the goal he scored a fortnight later in the 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, a result that secured the Premier League title for Liverpool.

Salah goes close to assists record
Salah was unable to match or break the record for the most assists in a single season.
Arsenal’s Thierry Henry (2002/03) and Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne (2019/20) both registered a record 20 assists.
Salah produced an impressive 18 assists in 2024/25, one behind midfielder Mesut Ozil, who created 19 goals for Arsenal in 2015/16. He needed two assists in Liverpool's final match against Palace to match Henry and De Bruyne's record.

Salah's incredible 2024/25 season
Matching the all-time record for goal involvements is just the latest in a long list of achievements for Salah.
Salah has won the 2024/25 Golden Boot award, having scored 29 goals - six more than his closest challenger, Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak. It's the fourth time he has claimed it, after also doing so in 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2021/22. Only Arsenal legend Henry has won it as often.
Salah also won the Premier League's Playmaker award, presented to the player with the most assists (18). He had six more than second-placed Jacob Murphy on 12.
Salah's strike against Spurs on 27 April was his 185th goal in the Premier League, giving him fifth place outright in the competition's all-time top scorers list. Salah's goal against Palace means he now has 186, just one fewer than Andy Cole on 187 goals in fourth place.
In December, Salah became the first player to register a goal and an assist in eight different Premier League matches in a single season, as the Reds produced a devastating display in their 5-0 win at West Ham.
By scoring and assisting in Liverpool's 2-0 triumph at Manchester City in February, Salah made Premier League history as the first player to notch more than 40 goal involvements in two different seasons, having also achieved it in 2017/18.
In March, Salah climbed up to third place outright in Liverpool's all-time top scorers chart, then on 243 goals. He moved above Gordon Hodgson, a legendary forward in the 1920s and 1930s, with the two penalties he netted in the 3-1 victory over Southampton.
Salah, who signed a new two-year contract with the club in April, has scored 245 goals for Liverpool; only Ian Rush (346) and Roger Hunt (285) have netted more.
