A record 2.68 million Fantasy Premier League managers have used one of their chips for Double Gameweek 24 (DGW24), surpassing the previous high of 2.38m played in Double Gameweek 37 last season.
The Assistant Manager and Triple Captain chip have proven the most popular, with over 1.18m people activating their Assistant Manager chip and a further 1.14m choosing to Triple-Captain.
Chips used in DGW24
Chip | Total |
---|---|
Assistant Manager | 1,177,726 |
Triple Captain | 1,139,007 |
Wildcard | 129,674 |
Free Hit | 123,991 |
Bench Boost | 111,461 |
In the first Gameweek when the Assistant Manager chip can be played, Arne Slot (£1.5m) has emerged as the most-coveted pick.
The Dutchman has delivered the most-consistent returns this season, with his 193 points the most among real-life managers.
Liverpool continued their good form with a 2-0 win at AFC Bournemouth in their opening match of DGW24, earning Slot 10 points. He gained six points for the win, a point for each goal and two points for the clean sheet.
Slot will have another opportunity to pick up points when Liverpool visit Everton on Wednesday 12 February, their second match of DGW24.
In addition, Liverpool could benefit from successive Double Gameweeks should they overturn a 1-0 deficit against Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of their EFL Cup semi-final.
This would see the Reds play FIVE times over the three-Gameweek period for which the Assistant Manager chip is active.

Everton manager David Moyes (£0.5m) is the second most-popular choice in the inaugural Assistant Manager Gameweek.
He delivered a welcome 12 points for the 416,252 who selected him as he continued his "new manager bounce", having taken charge of the Goodison Park outfit ahead of Gameweek 21.
Moyes reaped the rewards of Everton's 4-0 win at home to Leicester City in their first match of DGW24, credited with six points for the win, four points for the four goals scored, and two points for the clean sheet.
It's his second successive double-figure haul having returned an impressive 19 points in the last round as his side won 1-0 at Brighton & Hove Albion. That total included a 10-point table bonus awarded because Brighton, at ninth, were more than five places above Everton, ranked 16th, in the Premier League table.
Moyes could benefit from the table bonus again in the reschedule Merseyside derby, provided Everton can avoid defeat to Liverpool.
Triple-Captain king
Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) is the top Triple-Captain choice, backed by nearly 1.09m managers.
Never before has the Egyptian been backed in such large numbers, surpassing his previous high of 1.01m Fantasy bosses who Triple-Captained him for Double Gameweek 26 in the 2021/22 campaign. On that occasion he returned a whopping 28 points, placing among the top 10 scores of all-time, combining three goals with an assist and five bonus versus Norwich City and Leeds United.
He made a promising start to DGW24 scoring both goals in Liverpool's win at the Vitality Stadium for a 16-point haul.

Pain for Wood sellers
The most-sold player of the Gameweek, Chris Wood (£7.0m) punished his sellers' lack of faith with a hat-trick in Nottingham Forest's 7-0 win at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
Wood's 17 points equaled his second-highest score in a match, beaten only by his 20 points away to Wolverhampton Wanderers in Gameweek 33 of the 2020/21 campaign.

Remarkably, only once before has the most-transferred out player in a Gameweek produced more points than Wood.
Ditched by more than 1.38m managers ahead of Spurs' trip to Manchester United in Gameweek 4 of 2020/21 Fantasy, Son Heung-min (£9.8m) went on to register 18 points, combining two goals with an assist and three bonus.
