Here’s what to look out for over the rest of the week, with the remaining EFL Cup third-round matches taking place, European football and a full round of Matchweek 6 fixtures.

Monday

There are three matches taking place in Premier League 2 (PL2) at 19:00 BST. Leicester City host Middlesbrough, Stoke City take on Arsenal, who have a 100 per cent record so far, and Wolverhampton Wanderers meet Leeds United, who have drawn all three of their matches.

A host of Premier League managers will hold press conferences for their respective EFL Cup fixtures.

Tuesday

Four Premier League teams are in action in the third round of the EFL Cup. Chelsea host League Two side Barrow, while Manchester City face Championship opposition in Watford at the Etihad Stadium. Both matches are at 19:45 BST. Aston Villa and Leicester are also playing in the competition on Tuesday night as they travel to Wycombe Wanderers and Walsall respectively.

Erik ten Hag will provide the latest from Manchester United's camp as they prepare to face FC Twente at home in their opening UEFA Europa League match on Wednesday.

Wednesday

The EFL Cup matches continue, with Arsenal hosting Bolton Wanderers at 19:45 BST, before Liverpool welcome West Ham United to Anfield at 20:00 BST.

Man Utd face Twente at Old Trafford in what will be the first time the two have ever played each other in a competitive match. This will kick-off at 20:00 BST.

Ange Postecoglou will hold his press conference ahead of Tottenham Hotspur's Europa League opener on Thursday when they host Qarabag FK, who they have faced in the same competition twice before.

Thursday

Spurs take on Qarabag at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at 20:00 BST. It is the first meeting between the two teams since 2015, with the Premier League side winning the home encounter 3-1 before earning a 1-0 victory away in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Ahead of the weekend’s Premier League matches, several managers will hold their press conferences to provide injury updates and the latest news.

Friday

The remaining Premier League managers will speak to the media ahead of Matchweek 6.

Elsewhere, PL2 action resumes, with nine matches taking place, starting with Brighton & Hove Albion's trip to Middlesbrough at 13:00 BST.

Saturday

The Fantasy Premier League deadline for Gameweek 6 is at 11:00 BST, followed by a PL2 encounter between Spurs and Leeds from 12:00 BST.

A bumper day of seven Premier League fixtures begins at 12:30 BST with Newcastle facing Man City. In last season's meeting at St James' Park, Pep Guardiola's side edged a dramatic five-goal thriller.

In the day’s late match, Liverpool travel to Molineux to take on Wolves at 17:30 BST.
