The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts are revealing when they plan to use their Wildcard chip.

The chip allows managers to completely overhaul their 15-man squad without taking any hits. Once the Wildcard is activated, it cannot be reversed and managers must finalise their teams ahead of the next FPL deadline.

So far, over 580,000 managers have activated their Wildcard ahead of the Gameweek 4 deadline at 11:00 BST on Saturday 14 September, and here the FPL experts share their thoughts of when they're planning to use the chip.

What the experts say
Sam Bonfield (@FPLFamily)

I like most of my team right now and, with one or two transfers, I feel like I can have a squad that I'm happy with without needing to Wildcard. Many managers will target the fixture swing in Gameweek 6 or the second international break ahead of Gameweek 8.

Ideally I would like to get to at least Gameweek 8, and if I can stretch my squad even further then, I will aim to Wildcard around Gameweek 13.

Verdict: Gameweek 13

Pranil Sheth (@lateriser12)

I have players with good fixtures in Gameweeks 4 and 5. I am likely to Wildcard in Gameweek 6 when the fixtures swing. By that point we will understand how managers are treating their players who are involved in UEFA competitions. That information will be useful when changing your squad for 15 or more Gameweeks.

Verdict: Gameweek 6

Utkarsh Dalmia (@ZopharFPL)

I am currently planning to Wildcard in Gameweek 6, having just sold Bukayo Saka (£10.1m) for Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) ahead of Gameweek 4. I now have three Liverpool players for their next two home matches. I have also doubled up on Crystal Palace, Fulham and Newcastle United players, who have good fixtures over the next two Gameweeks before their tough run in Gameweek 6.

By Wildcarding in Gameweek 6, I can load up on Arsenal, Brentford and Manchester City stars ahead of their good run and lose my Fulham, Palace, Liverpool and Newcastle players.

Verdict: Gameweek 6

Holly Shand (@HollyShand)

I've got my eye on Wildcarding in Gameweek 6. I have two free transfers to use on bringing in Liverpool, Man City and Brentford players ahead of their kind schedule.

I'll then target the fixture swing for Arsenal and Brentford on my Wildcard. By this point the new arrivals in the transfer window should have bedded in and we will start to see consistency in starting line-ups.

Verdict: Gameweek 6

Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)

I've had a lot of fires to put out in recent weeks and taking four-point hits is far from optimal when I could Wildcard. But as things stand, I am looking to take another hit ahead of Gameweek 4 and hold my Wildcard a little longer with a view of using it ahead of Gameweek 6, when teams like Arsenal and Brentford have a brilliant run of fixtures.

Verdict: Gameweek 6

Pras (@Pras_FPL)

I'll be playing my Wildcard chip in Gameweek 6. I currently have no Arsenal players and in Gameweek 6 and 7 they face Leicester City and Southampton at home. Man City also have a great run from Gameweek 7, so building a good team with five or six City and Arsenal players feels like a good base after changing my squad.

Verdict: Gameweek 6
