What Ipswich need to do in the summer transfer window

Ipswich Town have confirmed the permanent signing of Omari Hutchinson from Chelsea for a club-record fee on a five-year deal following his successful loan spell last season.

The 20-year-old attacker played a key role in ending Ipswich's 22-year Premier League absence, scoring 10 goals and registering five assists in 20 starts in the Championship.

He scored three vital goals in the last three matches in the race for promotion, netting twice against Hull City and scoring the second goal against Huddersfield Town in a 2-0 win to secure promotion on the final day.

“Omari is someone we all enjoyed working with last season and the staff, his teammates and supporters all saw how he grew and developed over the course of the year, which is testament to the hard work he put in," Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna told the club's official website.

“The impact he had on the team throughout the season, especially in the latter part, was evidence of that and he, like so many of his teammates, played a significant part in that success for the Club.

“We think Omari is a fantastic player and person to have at the Club for the long-term future. He has a hunger to improve and show that he can compete and thrive in the Premier League.”

Ipswich make their Premier League return against Liverpool at Portman Road on Saturday 17 August.
