Managers in Fantasy Premier League can now start to finalise their chip plans for the remainder of the season after the confirmation of a Double Gameweek 35 (DGW35) for Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

Chelsea face Aston Villa prior to entertaining Spurs, who host their north London rivals Arsenal beforehand.

The news is bound to further raise interest in Chelsea's Cole Palmer (£6.1m), who produced his ninth double-figure return of the season against Manchester United on Thursday before registering an assist in the 2-2 draw against Sheffield United.

Palmer is unquestionably the top Chelsea pick and has established himself as an elite player in his first full season in Fantasy.

His team-mates Malo Gusto (£4.3m) and Nicolas Jackson (£6.8m) offer further options for those looking to triple up on Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team for the run-in.

Unlike Spurs, Chelsea don’t have a Blank Gameweek 34 (BGW34), while they still have eight matches remaining over the final six Gameweeks, more than any other side.

As Spurs are the only side to suffer a BGW34, many managers will be happy to be patient with their options.

Those with a Wildcard remaining could now wait until DGW35 before playing the chip and loading up on their main assets.

Spurs’ Son Heung-min (£10.1m) has eight double-figure hauls to his name and will contend with Palmer for the DGW35 armband. Richarlison (£6.8m), James Maddison (£7.9m) and Pedro Porro (£5.9m) are also likely to prove popular picks.

Crucially, last Friday’s announcement means there are still three matches to be rescheduled, and Chelsea and Spurs are involved in two of them.

Man Utd v Newcastle
Spurs v Man City

This is expected to result in a further Double Gameweek later in the campaign, with Gameweek 37 a possibility based off past seasons.

Pairing a DGW35 Wildcard with a Bench Boost chip in Gameweek 37 will be a popular tactic if this transpires.
