Norwich City’s interim Under-23 coach Matt Gill says the squad want to use their recent Premier League International Cup semi-final defeat as motivation to go one step further with a win in their Premier League Cup tie at Reading on Sunday.

The Canaries lost to Sunderland 1-0 at Carrow Road in the International Cup last four, and they have continued their impressive tournament success in 2016/17 to reach the PL Cup semi-finals, with a place in the final at stake at the Madejski Stadium.

Reflecting on the International Cup defeat, Gill told canaries.co.uk. “They had a lot of disappointment with how that ended and hopefully they can use that as fuel for this one.

"The games programme has been unbelievable this season, it's probably the first time they've had a full fixture schedule. It's been a real eye-opener for a lot of them, which is what it's all about.

"It's been a really good learning curve for them, in terms of seeing what it's like having to grind out games. Sunday will be a really tough test but one we're all looking forward to."
