Manchester United produced an incredible late turnaround to beat Brentford 2-1 thanks to two stoppage-time goals from super sub Scott McTominay.

The midfielder was brought on by Erik ten Hag in the 87th minute, with the hosts trailing 1-0 and heading for a third Premier League home defeat in a row. But McTominay repaid the faith by scoring in the third and seventh minutes of time added on.

For a large majority of the contest Man Utd had struggled to break down a resolute Brentford side, and they fell behind for a fourth consecutive Premier League home match after a goal from Mathias Jensen.

A series of United errors began with Casemiro giving the ball away, before diving into an unsuccessful tackle. Brentford then crossed in a ball that Victor Lindelof failed to clear. It broke to Yoane Wissa, who passed to Jensen, whose low strike went under the right hand of Andre Onana.

Bruno Fernandes’ long-range effort was beaten away by Thomas Strakosha, making his Premier League debut.

But Brentford came close to a second, firstly through Neal Maupay and then Christian NorgaardMaupay saw his long-range strike tipped over by Onana, who then did the same to Norgaard’s header from a corner.

Man Utd had an equalising own goal overturned by VAR for offside in the 89th minute but, when their hope looked all lost, redemption came through McTominay.

The substitute showed excellent composure to control the ball and find the bottom corner to bring United level. And four minutes later, he headed in Harry Maguire's flick-on to unleash wild scenes at Old Trafford.

A much-needed win for Ten Hag moves United up to ninth, while Brentford, who extend their winless run to six matches, stay 14th.

The home side made an excellent start, going ahead in the 15th minute through Wilson Odobert, who at the age of 18 years and 313 days became their youngest ever goalscorer.

Lyle Foster played a big part in the goal by running at the Chelsea defence before passing to Odobert. The French winger took a touch before shooting through Marc Cucurella’s legs and into the far corner.

Chelsea fought back and drew level just before half-time through an own goal from Ameen Al Dakhil, the Burnley centre-back diverting Raheem Sterling’s cross over his goalkeeper and into his own net

The Blues completed the turnaround early in the second half through Cole Palmer’s first Premier League goal, converting a penalty after Sterling had been fouled by Vitinho.

Sterling capped off an excellent performance with his third Premier League goal of the season, finding the far corner after being set up by Conor Gallagher.

Chelsea capped off a fantastic display when Nicolas Jackson made it 4-1, the substitute showing great composure to spin on the ball before firing it into the bottom corner.

The Blues go 11th with 11 points, securing back-to-back away wins for the first time in a year, while Burnley remain 18th with four points.

Everton break home duck

Everton claimed their first home win of the season as they beat struggling AFC Bournemouth 3-0 at Goodison Park.

Everton claimed a second goal at Goodison for the first time in almost a year through a superb shot by Jack Harrison on his first start for the club

Neto punched out a cross and Harrison superbly swept in a sidefooted volley from 25 yards over the head of the retreating goalkeeper.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin then nearly made it 3-0 on the stroke of half-time after he clipped the crossbar from an Ashley Young cross.

Abdoulaye Doucoure sealed the win a quarter of an hour into the second half, finishing off a loose ball.

Everton climb to 15th with seven points, while a third consecutive defeat leaves winless Bournemouth 19th with three points.

The Cherries' total of three points from eight matches represents the club's worst ever Premier League start.

Fulham return to winning ways

Fulham claimed a third win of the season and their first in three matches as they beat bottom side Sheffield United 3-1.

The home side dominated the opening stages but suffered the familiar problem of struggling to score, having netted only five times going into the match.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid almost got the opener but good defending from Aaron Trusty prevented him from converting from Antonee Robinson’s cross. Then Sheff Utd goalkeeper Wes Foderingham did well to deny Willian from close range.

Sheff Utd suffered a big blow when captain Chris Basham had to go off midway through the first half with a serious-looking ankle injury.

Oli McBurnie headed straight at Bernd Leno from a corner after half-time and the Blades were made to pay for missing that chance as De Cordova-Reid opened the scoring in the 53rd minute.

Fulham broke from the back and a sweeping move was finished off by De Cordova-Reid for his first goal since the opening weekend.

Sheff Utd pulled level as Robinson diverted Yasser Larouci’s cross into his own net.

But Fulham retook the lead in bizarre fashion in the 76th minute. They won the ball in midfield and Tom Cairney, slipping as he shot, struck the ball against his standing foot to send it looping over Foderingham. His effort hit the bar before going in off the back of the unfortunate Sheff Utd goalkeeper.

The Cottagers sealed Marco Silva’s 50th win in charge of the club in stoppage time through Willian’s fine strike.

Fulham climb to 12th with 11 points, while Sheff Utd remain bottom with only one point.

Hodgson landmark match ends in stalemate

Roy Hodgson became only the eighth manager to take charge of 400 Premier League matches as he saw his depleted Crystal Palace side share a goalless draw with Nottingham Forest

Palace went into the match at Selhurst Park missing a number of key attacking players through injury and suffered another setback as Jeffery Schlupp limped off midway through the first half.

With Forest’s leading scorer Taiwo Awoniyi also out for a month and Palace’s injury woes, scoring opportunities were always going to be at a premium.

Forest had the better of the first-half chances, most notably when Morgan Gibbs-White went through on 21 minutes but saw his volleyed lob over Sam Johnstone hit the far post and rebound into the goalkeeper’s arms.

Palace had a glorious opportunity to go ahead in the 63rd minute when Odsonne Edouard set up Jean-Philippe Mateta on the edge of the area but the French forward shot narrowly wide.

The away side looked more like getting a late winner but Johnstone stood strong to deny Forest twice as Palace stay ninth with 12 points, while Forest are 13th with nine points.
