The Scout’s FPL Gameweek 6 Ones to watch

The Scout is tipping four low-owned players for a breakthrough Gameweek in 2023/24 Fantasy Premier League, ahead of Saturday’s 13:30 BST deadline.

Callum Wilson (Newcastle) £7.8m

The forward could be the main beneficiary of Newcastle United’s busy UEFA Champions League schedule.

Wilson was handed his first start of the season against Brentford last weekend and seized his opportunity by scoring the decisive goal in a 1-0 win.

He has now scored a team-high three goals this campaign despite only being on the pitch for 186 minutes.

After featuring off the bench against AC Milan in midweek, Wilson - who is owned by 5.4 per cent of managers looks set to lead the line at Sheffield United this weekend.

The Blades have been poor in defence since their promotion, conceding twice in four of their first five matches.

James McAtee (Sheff Utd) £4.4m

The 0.1 per cent-selected midfielder is set for his home Premier League debut for Sheffield United after rejoining on loan from Manchester City.

McAtee was a key figure in the Blades’ promotion from the Championship last season, scoring nine goals and supplying three assists to win their Young Player of the Year award.

The underlying numbers highlight his potential as a budget midfield pick at home to Newcastle this weekend.

McAtee’s two shots in the box and two shots on target were both team-leading totals against Tottenham Hotspur in Gameweek 5.

Jeremy Doku (Man City) £6.5m

The Manchester City winger is expected to return to the starting XI after being benched on Tuesday in the Champions League, even if he had to come on in the 44th minute to replace the injured Bernardo Silva (£6.4m).

Doku has been quick to make an impact since earning his first outing for the champions in Gameweek 4.

He has started each of their last two league matches, scoring and earning nine points against West Ham United last weekend.

Owned by a mere 0.8 per cent, Doku can maintain his momentum at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola’s side had a big win in the corresponding match last season, triumphing 6-0 in Gameweek 5.

Lucas Paqueta (West Ham) £6.0m

Paqueta has created a team-high seven chances this season, while his six shots in the box place second only to the nine of Jarrod Bowen (£7.1m).

Crucially, his distribution can exploit the Reds’ defensive high line at Anfield this Sunday.

Away from home, Paqueta’s total of six through-balls is twice the total of any other player in Fantasy.

Selected in only 1.8 per cent of squads, he can take advantage of a Liverpool side who have only one clean sheet this season.
