The Scout highlights the best replacements for Manchester United’s Luke Shaw (£5.5m) in Fantasy Premier League.

The left-back has been ruled out for a number of weeks after sustaining a muscle injury, adding to the growing number of concerns in Fantasy managers’ defences.

Although Shaw remains in over 21 per cent of squads, sales are escalating ahead of Friday’s 18:30 BST deadline.

Indeed, he is the most-sold player in the last 24 hours, moved on by 203,000 former owners.

Ben Chilwell (£5.7m)

The Chelsea wing-back has the form and fixtures to offer a like-for-like replacement in the premium bracket.

Chilwell started the season with an assist against Liverpool, while his total of three shots inside the box ranks joint-second among team-mates.

According to the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), five of Chelsea’s next six matches score only two.

While Chilwell’s multiple routes to returns makes him their go-to pick, Malo Gusto (£4.0m) can be the value route into the Blues' backline.

The Frenchman was handed his first start of 2023/24 against West Ham United last weekend and is expected to deputise for the injured Reece James (£5.4m).

Pedro Porro (£4.9m)

After claiming his first clean sheet of the season against Man Utd last Saturday, the Tottenham Hotspur full-back is set to embark on a kind short-term schedule.

Each of Spurs’ next three matches, against AFC Bournemouth, Burnley and Sheffield United, score only two in the FDR.

Porro boasts strong all-round potential for that run.

He averaged 4.4 points per start last season, producing three goals, three assists and two clean sheets in those 13 outings.

Having dropped £0.1m in cost in Fantasy, Porro’s prospects for attacking returns make him a more attractive pick than fellow full-back Destiny Udogie (£4.5m).

Rico Henry (£4.6m)

Brentford’s left-sided defender has proven a reliable source of returns in the opening Gameweeks of 2023/24.

Henry supplied an assist while playing as a wing-back against Spurs in Gameweek 1.

The Bees then switched to a back-four against Fulham last weekend, earning their first clean sheet of the campaign in a 3-0 win at Craven Cottage.

Brentford have an extended run of home matches that lifts Henry’s prospects as a budget pick.

Each of their next five matches at the Gtech Community Stadium score only two in the FDR.

Don't forget the Gameweek 3 deadline is Friday 25 Aug 18:30 BST.
